Friends and Food is our monthly outreach to support families in our community. On the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm, we provide free boxes of food and other essential items through an on-site distribution. Some items are generously donated by Feeding America, while others are purchased from Feeding America and Slaughter’s Supermarket. It’s our way of sharing God’s love, meeting practical needs, and connecting with neighbors in a meaningful way.
Each year, our church participates in the Alma Hunt Offering, a joint initiative of the Women’s Missionary Union of Virginia (WMUV) and the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV). This annual offering supports Virginia Baptist outreach projects and special ministries, helping to extend the love of Christ and make a lasting impact.
Each December, our church participates in the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, supporting the International Missions Board (IMB) in partnership with Southern Baptist churches. This annual offering helps fund missionaries working to reach people around the world who are unaware, unengaged, unreached, and uncontacted with the message of Jesus Christ, enabling the spread of the Gospel to every corner of the globe.
Calvary Baptist participates in the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, in partnership with the North American Mission Board (NAMB). This offering supports missionaries and outreach efforts across North America, helping to share the message of Jesus Christ with communities that have yet to hear the Gospel.
Calvary Baptist participates in Operation Christmas Child, which shares God’s love with children in need around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. In partnership with Samaritan’s Purse and local churches worldwide, this ministry not only meets practical needs but also shares the Good News of Jesus Christ and helps make disciples of all nations.
